Parts used: Leaves
Guayusa (pronounced 'gwhy-you-sa') is a holly tree native to the tropical rainforests of the western Amazon. The leaves of the tree are harvested and used to make an energy boosting tea. It has been used by local indigenous peoples for millennia to perform in the harsh rainforest environment. It is closely related to Yerbe matè though not as bitter.
Guayusa tea is the perfect beverage for sustained energy throughout the day (or night!) without the rush, scattered thoughts, jitters & anxiety often associated with coffee. Whilst Guayusa is also caffeine containing it does not increase adrenalin levels in the same way as coffee. Instead of the quick rush and subsequent crash of Coffee, Guayusa provides an energy boost in a slower and more prolonged manner whilst providing a calm, focused attention throughout.
Guayusa does not leave you feeling drained, quite the opposite. It's perfect for work, whether physical or mental and especially good for staying up late, chatting and socialising with friends.
We offer pure unadulterated Guayusa leaf from Ecuador and support small scale family growers.
We also offer a range of Guayusa blends:
Guayusa & Lemon verbena
Guayusa & Ginger
Guayusa & Red Fruits
Guayusa & Roses
Contraindications
Avoid if pregnant or breast feeding (Caffeine containing)
